Valley Ho Power Squadron

Labor Day Harbor Hop Cruise

The Harbor Hop Cruise usually starts in the Long Beach are on the Friday night before Labor Day. The boats, mostly trailer able enter the water and skippers, crew and any guests spend the night on board. The assembled Valley Ho Squadron fleet leaves in the morning to travel south to Huntington Harbor, Newport Harbor, Dana Point Harbor, and possibly Oceanside Harbor, anchoring or mooring at each place as the group decides for brief visits or overnight stays. Meals are prepared on board one or more of the cruising vessels, or taken on shore as the cruisers prefer. Although open to all vessels of the Valley Ho Squadron and any invited guests, the cruise is primarily intended for power boats due to the speed required to cover each leg of the cruise. Sailboats may participate, but may be delayed in reaching planned destinations.
The boats return to their launch area on the last day of the cruise, Labor Day, although some may wish to extend the duration of the cruise for an additional day.
