Valley Ho Power Squadron

Western Round Up

The Western Round Up is an outdoor barbecue dinner meeting, usually held in August at a member’s home, where western wear - ten gallon hats, spurs, holsters, chaps, etc. - is encouraged. All guns are checked at the door. Steaks are cooked on the “Barbie” by the Commander or his designate, and side dishes are provided by Squadron members or Sea Gals, all with a nominal charge applied.

short Member Meeting is convened, and members may attend this meeting without participating in the meal. The main purpose of this assembly is social and fellowship with conversations often dealing with member boating activities, although Valley Ho Squadron business, usually brief, is conducted during the meeting. When there is sufficient notice given, members may bring boating items to be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the Valley Ho Squadron general fund.
